Exact ADC Sept 2005 Happy Hour

October 1st, 2005 by thiamfook

After one whole month of crazy hard work, finally it’s time for fun - Exact ADC monthly happy hour. This time we had fun at Titan (a new club behind Passion/Poppy).

This was also my first test of my new Canon S2 IS camera, still not so familiar with the functions provided, but the quality of photos are impressed me enough. So these are the photos captured.

Shopping finally

September 24th, 2005 by thiamfook

Have been one month never post a blog… This month was so busy, finishing freelance projects, took MCP exam, company had system test before launching, KLCC fire drill…

And finally today have time to go wandering in Mid Valley and Sg Wang. Bought 2 valueable things that light up my day: Beyond The Story Live 2005 DVD and Feel 100% vol. 15.

The DVD has poster, postcards inside, and good packaging too.

The Feel 100% comic, a comic that I’ve read since more than 10 years ago, the author’s work no doubt is clean and nice, but the speed is too slow, alomost one volumn per year. This new volumn is not disappointed as usual, still full of phylosophy theories and funny ideas, plus beautiful art works too. It’s gonna be end at next volumn (should be pulbished in next year…) Strange feeling that a comic that accompany me passed thru secondary school life, college life and working life is going to end soon…P9250021_1 P9250026

Soundcape Band Competition - Final

August 20th, 2005 by thiamfook

Yeah, it’s another blog about rock show… haha… too much of it? xp
P8200080Last night went for Soundscape Band Competition Final. Went with my colleague Kok Tong and his friend Siang, and of course my gang of fellows.
There were 9 bands competed last night, top 3 bands from each state Penang, KL and Melacca. Competition took place at Channel Dance Club which previously known as Warp. Although it was scheduled to start at 8pm but the competition started at around 8:30pm

P8200034P8200030The competition was started with Dian Bang (Electronic Stick). They are a band of 2, playing music with PCs and guitars which is quite new in local scene. The electronic stuffs they played were quite new too. But the lengthy time taken to set up was already made the whole competition become a little bit cold due to the technical problem on the P.A. systems.

P8200044P8200061P8200063P8200079P8200068The second band, Dream Machine, a band from Sarawak, their nu-metal tracks quickly brought the heat up to the Club. Very good show from them. Although there were problems on guitar amp (anyway the P.A. system giving problems all night long, a lot of technical problems happened and lot’s of time was wasted)

P8200086

Grey Area, a band from Penang.

P8200093

Beginner, from KL, skillfull band

P8200098

Sensitive Spot, from Malacca

P8200113

White Light, the champion of the Penang area. Playing post rock. Their post rock is powerful, they were really qualified for champion of Penang area, enjoyed their music.

P8200152P8200155P8200145Next was the Citizen of Icecream, another band with full of experience playing post rock in local scene. They taken long time to set up as well, and the P.A. system kept on giving them lot’s of technical problems.

P8200162P8200167P8200172Slap is another band from Sarawak competed yesterday.
They have few years of experience in performing, skillful and experienced.

P8200178P8200191P8200183P8200179

Finally it’s the turn of the most-awaiting band of the night ‘Deng Deng’ (Wait For A While). This newly formed hardcore-punk band was the band brought up the only pogo session in the competition. However the fun time of pogo was so short coz we were stopped by bouncers and security staffs on Chanel Dance Club.

Next was the guest performing session by Hong Kong indie pop queen The Pancakes, a telented musician. Her song "Gum Gum Gum" appeared in movie ‘McDull, Price de la Bun’ has won the 24th Hong Kong Film Awards "Best Original Film Song" year 2004. What really impressed me is, according to Silent Keat, one of the competition staffs, she is friendly, polite and easy going. This is really different from other HK stars.

Last was the prize giving time. The Most Experimental Award was given
to Citizen of Icecream. 2nd Runner Up to White Light, First Runner Up
to Dream Machine, and the champion went to Deng Deng as expected most
of the audience.

The Band Sound #1

August 15th, 2005 by thiamfook

Last Saturday went to Halo Cafe at South City Plaza to watch a gig ‘The Band Sound #1′, 4 bands were playing: Soundwall, Met Mercury, Malito and Uglymen. A lot of rock music lovers attent to the gig. However everybody jus sat and watch the performance. The show was getting hot while Uglymen playing coz they really knows how to interact with audience. Met new friends Mavis, and Uglymen’s friend Beh there with Ten, and Seok Kheng too.

Mystery in LRT Station

July 22nd, 2005 by thiamfook

P7220011P7220004Today stayed back a while in office, then left office around 7.45pm. When I reached LRT station, there was packed with people, seems like there was something happened to the LRT system. Even two trains were passed but whole station still crowded. So I’ve decided to go opposite to take the train to earlier station Ampang Park so that can get in to the train. 10 minutes later when I back to KLCC station again, I was ready for big crowd of people that will flood into the train. Surprisingly… the number of people in whole KLCC station waiting for my train has not more than 20 people!! Where have all those people gone in 10 minutes? ???@_@???

Big round moon

July 21st, 2005 by thiamfook

Today stayed in office until quite late, exam at Monday, so have to put more effort, but ended up reading chat message in circles99, haha…
When reach Bukit Jalil LRT station, I noticed the moon was so bright and beautiful, especially under the river beside the station (although now already become a big drain -_-"). Thought of took some photos but feel lazy, somemore no tripod… So just continue my journey to home, then received a SMS from Siew Pei, my old college mate, reminded me to watch the moon. Then I only have the guts to take photo… wasted le, if took at LRT station will be better, shouldn’t think too much, should follow the philosophy ‘Don’t think, just shoot’…
Well these are the photos taken, quite blur… sigh my camera can’t perform well in night time, when can i get a SLR? @-@
